Spicy braised Oxtail

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb oxtail.
  • 2 tbsp sambal base.
  • 2 tsp salt.
  • 1 tbsp lime juice.
  • 2 bay leaves.
  • 2 cm ginger.
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste.
  • 2 jalapenos, sliced.

Tenderized oxtail by boiling it for about 5 hrs. If you have a crockpot this will only take less than 1 hr. Set aside. Keep the broth.

Boil 300 ml broth with salt, bay leaves, ginger, tomato paste, jalapenos, sambal, and lime juice until broth is thick.

Add tender oxtail and braise in the thick sauce for about 10 more minutes. Medium heat.

Serve 4-6 people.
